The Best Customer Service!

Into the Real Food Cafe (www.realfoodcafe.com) we went, placed our order, found a table and set about waiting.

Half an hour later, when the order number before ours had been delivered to the chaps next to us, eaten, and the chaps departed, the wait was seeming a bit excessive for a fish & chip establishment.

We asked a member of staff to see if there was a hold up.

What we might have expected at that point was an apology (which we would have accepted and silently harrumphed a bit more), and a further wait for our dinner.

What we didn't expect was an apology with a full refund and a promise that although there had been an error in the kitchen, the food would be with us ASAP. What we really didn't expect, on top of a completely free meal in return for our wait, was the offer of more drinks, on the house. And what we really really didn't expect was a voucher for a free meal next time we're passing.

Let's put this in context: we hadn't made any fuss about the delay, we merely asked for the order to be checked.

So, I think the Real Food Cafe wins a commendation for the best possible customer service in righting an error.

And, when it did come the food was as plentiful and tasty as ever.

  2. Real Food Cafe is superb. We've been going there since it opened and Sarah who runs it is always friendly and chats whenever she sees us. Great food too.
