Hoary!

Walking through the office today, once daylight had hit, I happened to glance out of a west-facing window which affords a view of a field and trees (rather than out of my side of the office, which has a view of other office buildings). Rushing back to my desk I texted Mick: “It’s a gorgeous hoary day out there. Go for a walk. Take the camera.”

I’m not sure that I’ve ever seen such a fantastic display of hoariness combined with lying snow.

  1. Conditions were the same here - very picturesque. Unfortunately I don't have a dial-up photographer so I had to go do the job myself :-)

I do like your favourite pic - can you link to the full-size version?

  2. Excellent. We enjoyed similar scenes as we drove across the Peak District on Monday

  3. BG! - I'd really have liked to have done the walking and snapping myself. Would have beaten sitting looking out of a window at office roofs!

I've uploaded the full-sized versions and you should find the 'church and old schoolhouse' one here: http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/j8vEV1iY6oXO_KD5dqvltw?feat=directlink

(sorry, don't know how to do clicky links in comments)

  4. Martin - I imagine that that the amount of snow in the Peak District is more than the couple of inches here. Very very pretty, though. I was particularly pleased to leave work in the last dregs of daylight yesterday, so I got to see a little bit of the prettiness first hand.
