Occasional Pyrenean Tractors (4)
A final one for this series. There was one other of which I would have liked a snap, but I was put off by having to ask (in my embarrassingly bad French) when there were seven farmers stood around it, chatting.
Ah, yes: A 1937 Delage D8 120 SS, Letourneur et Marchand Coupe
"This magnificent, stylish and elegant one-off two-door "Aerodynamic Coupe", complete with a sunroof, combined with the very rare short chassis was originally ordered for a European Prince and is the only known short chassis 8.120. Immediately after the last war it was part of the famous Gerry Albertini Collection in London and was purchased by the Blackhawk Collection in 1983 who had the tractor restored. It is a highly desirable prize for the serious collector. Never shown since its complete restoration, it would be a prime candidate for top awards at any concours."
Just catching up now Gayle. Sorry to read you are on your way home. I think Alan S gave it a good shot and it was good to read. In reality its a very nice Lamborghini 774-80N, 4cyl. 4Litre, with a very strange exhaust and Air intake. I admit to never seeing one with this arrangement before now. Lambo’s are youngsters in the tractor world, only started up at the end of WW2. They used up lots of ex military kit and also some parts made by Ferrari.
