The Road goes ever on and on; Down from the door where it began;
Now far ahead the Road has gone; And I must follow, if I can;
Pursuing it with eager feet; Until it joins some larger way;
Where many paths and errands met; And whither then? I cannot say.

“We need to think about food” said Mick in response to an email I had sent him about our plans for the weekend after next.

“Eeek!” I said, having completely failed to think about the fact that we would need to eat something during a three-day trip.

A small handful of hours later, after the use of almost every pan in the house and much washing up, and both dehyrdrators are running, containing chilli, shepherd, pasta sauce, chickpea curry, rice and pasta.

Thank goodness for the second dehydrator!

  1. Ah, food - a good way to use up those TGOC left overs, perhaps, methinks?

  2. Dyhydrated shepherd? *gulp* You must have a very large dehydrator! *g*

  3. Either I've got a big dehydrator, or it was a really little shepherd...

    I would call it shepherd's pie, except it was only the shepherd bit of the pie (and in practice it will become more of a smash/meat mush than a pie).

    Martin: didn't you use up your TGOC leftovers on the Dales Way? We only had one meal apiece left from May, and it was on a rainy night in Booth that they got consumed.

  4. talk to me nicely and I may consider making a nice wooden spoon to stir those numerous pots and pans, including your chilli shepherd!Have put a small post up on them.

  5. Gayle - the Dales Way trip wasn't from home - I just picked up food as I went along. I have more time to prepare this time!
